1990s

	By the 90s only GM was creating a full-sized wagon. As a last hurrah GM actually increased the size of their station wagon, but the new design was not popular with consumers and the last full-sized wagon rolled out the doors in 1996. Modest sized import wagons did find a market and the SUV (truck based Station Wagon) peaked.

CAR COMMENT	The Buick Roadmaster is considered my many to be the last great station wagon. Until Dodge released the Magnum, the 1996 Roadmaster estate wagon was the last full sized station wagon produces. The car, especially the 1996 Collector's Edition, is a true classic.
MODEL COMMENT	Basic kit includes station wagon body, interior extension, door panels, dash, steering wheel, steering column, grille, hood ornament, taillight bezels, taillights, backup lights, brake light, aluminum wheels, roof insert, and glass. Requires the Revell Caprice kit to complete. Modelhaus also sells a combo kit including the Revell Caprice.

CAR COMMENT	After a 14-year run of the same basic Caprice body style Chevy unveiled the new fat-car approach in 1991. While this new version made a very popular service vehicle (police, taxi, etc.) the general public was not attracted to the new design and the Caprice unfortunately came to an end in 1996.

MODEL COMMENT	Partial resin kit. Required the Alternomad to complete. Re-styled body with '97 Corvette-styled hood. Corvette taillight panel with clear red taillights. I like this version better than the Thom Taylor custom.

CAR COMMENT	This Thom Taylor custom car design combines the 90s full-size Chevys with the 57 Nomad style. While never made by GM, some custom creations of this were created. The 90s Caprices and Impalas are popular jumping boards for hot-rod customs.
MODEL COMMENT	While an interesting design, I would have preferred to see RM sell a stock version of the 90s GM wagons and leave the custom designing to the hobbyist.
