Tom Daniel's design. Basically a cross between a Chevy 1100 (El Camino style) sedan delivery truck and a Z/28 Camaro. Original version molded in orange, second version (Quicksilver) in silver. Third version (not done by Tom Daniels) was called 'Bad Actor' and was molded in white. The 4th version was called 'Street Fighter II' and was molded in white and had new Tom Daniels decals and box art. Doesn't really fit my Station Wagon theme, but could be the spring board for a nice wagon custom.

Plymouth also offered the Custom Suburban, a mid-level wagon equaling the Belvedere, and the Deluxe, the most economical Plymouth station wagon equaling their Savoy car line. While these two would be the best candidate for conversion to a light-commercial vehicle such as a police wagon, the lucky office could ride in the Sport version.

This model was the first and best station wagon model I ever built. I always loved the Jo-Han kits and I could not let this one sit on my hobby store's shelves in the 80s. Unfortunately I chopped the model beyond repair and turned it into a convertible Corvette-ish hearse. (Don't ask why). I truly hope Johan will re-release this kit, but if not I will pick it, or the non-police version above up on eBay. Kit includes siren, top-light, spotlights, push bars, aerials, radio unit. I have seen them molded in both white and black.

As did the earlier 60s Buicks, the "Customizing Kit" included a trailer, tools, and decals to make a custom racing team. The "Craftsman Series" kit was a snap together. The "Indy Drag Combo" included a 65 Nova Funny Car and trailer. The "Boss Nova" release was a mid-engine funny car. I have seen this version go for nearly $300 on eBay.

4 in 1 custom kit (stock, racing, drag or custom). The updated annual of the 64 version. Sadly AMT stopped after 65. This kit has resurfaced many times in AMT history, lastly in 2001 as part of the Buyer's Choice program. My only complaint is they cut the production too short. Lots of molded in detail and extra custom parts. I wish it included a third-row seat. Originally molded in white and black and now in gray. An unfortunate yellow was used for the 86 release. An interesting side note about the Buyer's Choice release: Apparently the factory screwed-up a few of the kits and put a 63 Impala SS body instead of the 65 Chevelle wagon causing many enthusiast to have an unhappy surprise when they opened the box.

The 1965 Lincoln Continental (4-door sedan and 4-door convertible) was a very sporty luxury car. With suicide doors and a beautiful chrome grill the Continental was a wonderful vehicle. However I can find no proof that Lincoln ever turned one into a station wagon. It is possible that some custom hearses or flower cars were fashioned from the Continental frame, but the Cadillacs of the day would have been a more popular choice.

While I'm not complaining, I have no idea why AMT included parts for a wagon with this kit. The Station Wagon option is an extra top and glass that it to be glued on the rear of the car (cutting out the trunk). Lincoln never made such a vehicle, especially with the outrageous glass roof (like a Vista-Cruiser on acid). This is a great kit for a hearse conversion. The Prestige kit included a base with penholder. Vintage kit includes woodgrain decals and used the original box artwork.
