Kent McCarthy makes ALL-STATE BAND!!!!
Congratulations to senior percussionist Kent McCarthy on making All-State Band. Kent is Owensboro Catholic's first All-State band member since 1995. He placed in the Top 5 in the Snare audition and made the All-State Symphonic Band---the top band!!!!! Kent will participate in All-State in February during the KMEA State Music Conference. Way to go Kent!!!!!

| Christmas Concert--December 14
The Owensboro Catholic Christmas Concert will be on Monday, December 14, 7:00 p.m. at Blessed Mother. 6th and 7th graders are asked to arrive at 6:00--all other students at 6:30. Each family is asked to bring cookies (store bought will be fine) for a reception following the concert.
| Work Night
Band parents and students are participating in a "work night" at the Owensboro Catholic High School Band Room on Wednesday, December 16 at 6:00. Dinner will be provided. We will be storing the marching band props and uniforms. All is encouraged to attend!
| 20 Students Make All-District!!!
We had a great day at All-District auditions today. Once again, the 2009-10 Owensboro Catholic Band program passed another milestone--as we now have TWENTY All-District Students! Our previous “record” was seventeen students. A big THANK YOU to all the students who tried out. We also had several students get VERY close. You are alternates and I will let you know who you are. In recent years, we have had to call up alternates to participate in All-District Weekend.
The following All-District students will participate and perform in the KMEA 2nd District All-District Weekend Jan. 7, 8, and 9.
