Land between the Lakes

The weekend of September 13th and 14th some of the club members decided to take a trip to LBL.  For those who don’t know, that’s Land between the Lakes in Kentucky.  Professor was the trail guide all Saturday and I was in the passenger seat.  There was a lot of photo opts, especially of wheels in the air.   Rat, Beef Stew and Mutt are in most of those pictures.  First Rat had the rear wheels in the air.  He could have driven out of his predicament but decided to be strapped.  I think  the words were “get the strap NOW!!!!!”  Next Beef Stew had the front wheels in the air, he made all of his passengers climb out because he thought it was going to be a bumpy ride. This turned out to be one of his better ideas.  The cooler spilled, soaking the back seat with freezing cold water.   To finish the day Mutt caught his truck on fire while going down a hill.  The fire was safely put out, no one was hurt and the yota was drivable.  On Sunday some went home and some went back out for more with Mutt in the lead.  The Suzuki got one tire of the ground but it was just pulled back to the ground.  We found some hills and big rocks to climb up.  Then went back to the campsite to pack everything up.  It was a great weekend and some of the most fun I’ve ever had.
