IFWDA meeting report

By Keith Dryden

The IFWDA Delegate/Member meeting was held at the French Lick Resort on Sunday Feb. 9th 2003.  This was the conclusion to a great wheeling weekend on the property of French Lick Resort.  John Deel and Keith Dryden were the delegates attending for our club.  Highlights of each officer’s report are as follows:

Newsletter     =    The next two issues of the IFWDA newsletter will de delayed due to the events

Editor          scheduled in June and August.  Articles for the next newsletter are due Feb 23.

Remember to send in any news you have to rowda@voyager.net and earn points

           for your club.

President’s     =    4x4 Night at Hooters will begin on Tues. March 4 in Indy.  To promote our sport

Hooters has offered to discount hot wings on certain nights and host a meet and

greet location.  For more information see the IFWDA website.

IFWDA is looking into producing a 4x4 calendar for 2004.  Each club will be

asked to send in pictures and the best ones will be on the monthly pages with a

collage of pictures on the back.  Calendars will be sold to raise money for

           IFWDA projects.

Vice President’s     =    A change to the points system for club of the year has been established. The

number of points a club earns for bringing in a new club to IFWDA has been

reduced for 10 to 5.  The general idea here is to give more points for

participation in events instead and try to emphasis participation.

Membership    =    Please send any membership changes to Mark at bigbird4wd@hotmail.com so

he can keep the roster up to date.

Dir.      =    Redbird opening June 1. 4x4 vehicles will need to be registered with the state of

Environmental      Indiana, but no decision on how to handle this has been concluded.  IFWDA has

Affairs          agreed to put aside $2000.00 to help with opening Redbird.  D.I.R.T. will also

be matching that amount.  To help get ready for the opening a clean up day has

been scheduled for April 4 and 5.  You will need to pre-register with Brian if

you plan to attend. On April 18 IFWDA will be showing off the property to

several state officials.  They will need 25 IFWDA members with clean vehicles

to escort the group around the property and introduce them to the sport.  Please

contract Brian if interested in helping out.

Raffle Chairman     =    Teresa Pfleeger will be taken over the position.  This office may be combined

with the office of publicity and Teresa and Max will be working together in a

           joint effort.

New Events    =    Drake Farm Run Apr 19t and 20th at Elizabethtown, KY.  Event is limited to 75
