(Continued from page ) picture, you need to wheel more often! On the
subject of the website, in the past few days, I have been busy creating a new
bulletin board. It is nearly complete, and already has 16 registered users!
This bulliten board holds several different forums ranging from Jeep talk to
Ford talk to Toyota Talk and everything in between. It also has our members
only forum, and our classified adds. Very soon, if not by the time you
receive this, I will have pulled the old forums and classified ads down from
the web. If you live under a rock, you may not have heard about it, but I DID
send an email out to everyone in the club I have an address for. If you
didn’t get it, it is because your email addy needs to be updated. Send all
membership information and updates to Daniel Weisman. In going
over the budget recently, Daniel and I found that we are in enough black ink
to provide for some fun activities this year, and still have enough to pay
all the bills for 2004, and get 2005 started again. So, I have been kicking
around the idea of bringing back the Summer Picnic. The idea I have is to
rent a shelter house at Lincoln State Park, have all the club members and
their families come out for the day (weekend?), have a cookout (everyone
bring a covered dish?), and have a great time. There are activities at the
park that everyone can enjoy, from fishing, hiking, canoes and paddle boats,
swimming, playgrounds, and my favorite– taking a well deserved nap! There are
no details yet, so don’t press me for any, but we may possibly be able to
provide burgers and hot dogs for everyone. Like I said, there are no details
yet, but I did want to give you an idea of what is possible. This year already, we have welcomed 3 new members.
These are all great folks, that will fit like an old shirt. Please get to
know these folks if you haven’t already. I am
looking forward to a great year full of wheeling, camping, and having a good
time with all my Boonie buds (coonie?). Do what you can to become more
involved. Try to get to a meeting. Make it a point to get to one or two more
events than you did last year. I’ve got to tell you, if you missed anything
last year, you missed a lot! Till
next time, keep it locked in! rat |
